Cyber Security Awareness Month 2024 – Cyber security is everyone’s business.
October is Cyber Security Awareness Month, an annual reminder for all Australians to take action to improve their cyber security. The theme for Cyber Security Awareness Month 2024 is Cyber security is everyone’s business.
The Australian Signals Directorate’s Australian Cyber Security Centre (ASD’s ACSC) is encouraging all Australian businesses and organisations to get involved by promoting Cyber Security Awareness Month and this year’s 4 key actions:
1. Turn on multi-factor authentication.
2. Keep devices and software up to date.
3. Use strong and unique passwords, such as a passphrase.
4. Recognise and report phishing.
What you can do
Share the key messages and other Cyber Security Awareness Month resources on cyber.gov.au with your organisation.
Promote positive behaviour change by developing a communication campaign with simple, positive, action-focused messaging. Encourage everyone, including leaders, employees, contractors, customers and your supply chain, to take action to protect their devices and accounts.
